PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Miss Tabitha has always wanted to be an educator. Even as a child, she would help her younger siblings with their homeschooling. Tabitha attended public high school, graduating 11th in her class. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After teaching math for five years, Tabitha took two years to travel and substitute teach, experiencing a multitude of different school districts and cultures. In 2019, she accepted a teaching position in North Kansas City; unfortunately medical conditions stopped her from finishing the school year. Now, she works one-on-one and in small groups, helping students reach their fullest potential.
"Tabitha's patience, experience and organization make her a wonderful tutor, but her dedication to the success of each individual child makes her exceptional. We were so worried about our child falling behind in his 1st grade year because of the pandemic, and the extremely limited school time he was getting. She helped him excel in math, reading and writing, not to mention greatly improving his self confidence! We highly recommend her!"
- Tammy S. (parent of a 1st grader)
"If you're looking for a tutor, then Tabitha Perkins is your girl! Ms. Tabitha has been working with our youngest for the past two years, and we have already registered for next year!! Highly recommended!!"
- Kyla C. (parent of a 7th grader)
"We've been working with Tabitha for over a year and she has been amazing. While she assisted our 6 year old with virtual school during lockdown, she supplemented the class work with additional material that was tailored to our child's needs. Now that our child is at school in-person, Tabitha continues to help with our kid's reading and writing, always coming up with new ways to teach without my daughter realizing she's learning. And as for discipline, Tabitha is kind and fun but will get firm if she needs to. She is no pushover. We are so happy to have Tabitha helping with our child's education."
- Ryan and Ashley H. (parents of a 1st grader)
"Miss Tabitha has been with us for a year now, and we really love what she's doing. She's perfect! We went through five different tutors before we found her. If we get our way, she'll be helping our two kids until they graduate!"
- Jeff and Diana S. (parents of a 4th grader and a 9th grader)
